For our magazine advert, we will be using an image of our actor and actress from the music video. We will also be incorporating the album cover that we have designed so that the public who will see the advert know what the cover looks like. This does generally follow the key conventions of a typical indie music video, however we will include our own original ideas.
The theme of the image will follow the idea of youth and rebellion displayed in the music video we created. The advert will include cigarettes and alcohol and will work well in terms of continuity.
In order to gain public attention we are going to include, at the bottom of the page, tour information and a website link in order for people to get more information or just to look more like the band.
In terms of font, we will be using a consistent house style which will also appear on the album cover. This is good because the consistency means the font is more recognizable for the public. It also helps create a brand image of the band.
Our ideas have been inspired by various artists we have found having carried out research in indie magazines such as Q and NME. We feel that affective adverts come from bands such as Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys as they capture the concept or rawness and rebellion.
